Sunset Cruise

We have been having such a good time with our new boat. We’ve baken friends out on the Caloosahatchee River, cruised down to LaBelle for lunch, brought the dogs on several short cruises to see how they like boating life …and more. The more time we can get out on the boat each week, the better. Not only is it so peaceful being out on the water, but I’m really enjoying the consistency of docking, cruising, and learning everything I can so I can be helpful while we’re on the water.

Today we decided to take the boat out a little later in the day so we could enjoy our first sunset on the boat. Our plan was to anchor (for the first time) and sit back and enjoy the sunset on the river. And, though we did get a sort-of glimpse of the sunset, the winds picked up before the sun went down. There were wind advisories being broadcast through the radio that kind of freaked me out. Since we were inexperienced with anchoring, we decided to play it safe and just cruise around and enjoy the water before heading back right as the sun was setting.

We were still able to get some pretty sunset shots. And, even if things didn’t go quite as planned, it’s never a mistake to get out on the boat and just cruise along.

It’s definitely becoming one of my happy places.
