The definition of CODDIWOMPLE is … “to travel in a purposeful manner towards a vague destination.”
The word really sums up what we feel like we’ve been doing for many years. You just never know what we’re going to be doing next!
In 1999, we relocated our family of 6 from Canada to the suburbs of Atlanta. Just because… new adventure. Why not?
In 2014, after the last of our four kids left for college, we sold our 4000-square-foot suburban home, and many of our belongings, and moved to an 1100-square-foot condo in the big city. The “plan” was to retire there.
In 2017, we sold our condo and moved to a log cabin in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The “plan” was to retire there.
In 2019, we bought a Grand Design 32-foot travel trailer.
In 2020, we bought an RV lot in Fort Myers, Florida. A sunny place to escape to when the winter blahs set in.
In 2020, we upgraded our tag-a-long camper to a 37-foot motorhome, with the intention of spending some time at our RV lot in Florida in the winter, and traveling when we could in the summer.
But…
In 2021, we shifted again. We sold our home and most of our possessions, bought a 45-foot motorhome, and now live and travel in our RV full time.
And then…
In 2022, we bought a 28-foot “pocket yacht,” and are now completely obsessed with the goal of learning everything we can about boat life and embarking on a 6000-mile journey called The Great Loop someday.
And THIS is our coddiwomple life. You never know what new adventure we will cook up as we travel by land and sea.
